*smile*

just what i needed to start my day! a big smile from my little boy when he woke up this morning!

eamon has been smiling since he was about 4 weeks old - but now the smiles are getting bigger and cheekier with lots of laughing and squealing as well. i think he must have a lot of personal jokes going on cos i really can't see what's so funny! :)

anyway, he makes us laugh and laughter is good xx

...and sometimes he sleeps

this is a very UN-usual dinner time story: eamon falls asleep.

usually this is the time of the day when he's the naughtiest ... lots of crying and grumpiness for no apparent reason - completely normal for most babies, i've been told :)

however on this fine day eamon fell asleep for us on daddy's shoulder (mum: this is what NOT to do when you baby-sit for me in a few weeks' time...heehee) and we had a lovely peaceful dinner time - bliss.

pick of the week

hello! what did you get up to @easter?

in-between waiting by the phone (to hear baby news from my dearest pregnant/over-due friend charlene - still no news!) and consuming pretty bunnies of white chocolate, we did a lot of this: hanging out with our little buddy eamon. these are my favourite pics of late.

daddy and eamon had a great time. it was beautiful to see them bonding :)

all white

a little under a week after eamon was born he was baptised in our church with our family and friends to witness the joyous occasion.
eamon wore the very same gown that i wore when i was baptised and was wrapped in an amazing and intricate blanket knitted by his great-grandmother.
despite the overwhelming tiredness ben and i were feeling at that point, it was a truly happy and moving day!

our little button!

my parents meet eamon for the first time! an extremely "chuffed" pop ever so carefully holds his daughter's first child, a son with the same second name as him :)

we were extremely happy and grateful to have these most precious moments with my parents, as they are now very far away and missing little eamon a lot! we had an amazing time with my family members who came over for the occasion, both before and after the birth (i'm really sorry you missed out on the post-birth events aimee - we will be catching up soon!)

a world of firsts: bathtime...

eamon's first bath! mummy got to take part hands-on while daddy took the photos. eamon wasn't sure at first and kicked up a bit of a fuss but settled down when he realised how nice it was. eamon still LOVES his bath. sometimes its the only time of the day he's quiet :)

eamon's big day

it took our little man a bit under 15 hours to make his dramatic entrance into the world. here are some of those really really early pics from the hospital...

the midwife got his clothes all ready in the crib even hours before the birth which is quite cute. it really sinks in then that sometime in the next few hours you're going to have this baby!

eamon was a little off-colour when he first arrived so he spent a bit of time in the nursery...his daddy was there to keep him company :) they took me there a little later after i had recovered so we could enjoy our first moments together as a family and so that eamon could have a midnight snack as well :)

i have to give ben credit for taking all of the photos in this post - i was a little 'busy' :)
