happy little nester

its less than four weeks to go before our little newcomer arrives!
i've been a busy little beryl getting things organised for midget :)
i couldn't resist this shot of all the little singlets hanging on the line ...this little kiddo (only) has about 20 singlets!
at the moment washing the cutsie little things is an absolute pleasure - but i'm sure that will all change in a few months time when reality sets in!

on the twelth day of christmas...

...my true-love gave to me - ...the christmas tree i have been dreaming of!
although its been finished for a couple of weeks now, i finally got around to taking some photos of it, complete with all the precious ornaments! benny is *extremely* proud of his hard work, and he deserves every bit of praise for the pretty much perfect job he did :)
the little ceramic 'joy to the world' birdy came from paperboatpress via aimee.
after christmas we definately won't be packing it away - we'll be decorating it with all things whimsical and leaving it out to admire. in fact it will probably find its place in our 'baby area' :) until bubs becomes old enough to destroy it!

she didn't forget her letter

my dear sister aimee has been and gone, but not without leaving us with a whole bunch of great memories of happy sisterly times.

whilst she was traversing tasmania she snapped up a letter 'A' from one of the cute shops in town. it found its way to a place on top of my bookshelf and (although it rather liked its new home), its owner was adamant that it was coming home with her. she was so determined that she wasn't going to forget it that she reminded me about it everyday!

well aimee, you didn't forget you letter - your letter went home with you - i hope it is just as happy on your bookshelf as it was on mine :) at least i have the picture to keep...heehee

the girl with the camera

is here!

i'm absolutely loving having my photo snapping sister over to stay with me for a little over a week. bring on the good times! there is nothing quite like having your very own sister around - to help with birthday parties, to come to my baby showers, to listen when i'm talking to myself, to talk sense into my dear benny, and to take photos of the little moments i often miss. thanks aimee :) xx

sharing the wrap !

recently, i became the proud owner of kevin akers' book all wrapped up - groovy gift wrap of the 1960s.

it’s a fun and categorised compilation of 1960s gift wrap with a little bit of historical contect tucked in-between; as the author himself puts it: ‘far-out fads, visual vaudeville and transcendental trendiness helped make the sixties the most visually rich decade the world had ever seen…”

i love the ‘handy man’ section…and the baby wrapping papers are extremely cute too.

this book is definitely up my alley – and it’s a perfect little coffee table book!

i'm-dreaming-of-a...

...christmas tree like this! ben (the builder) and i have been working on this of late.
of course, we are fighting a losing battle against time, as per usual.
but we are having fun nevertheless. the drawing part of it has been fun anyway, and i'm absolutely sure that decorating it is going to be great fun too.
its the cutting out and assembling all the parts thats going to be a headache... wish us luck!

sweet baby things

with less than three months to go before the little midget arrives, quite an accumulation of baby things has appeared on my shelves - many thanks to my lovely mum, sisters, sister-in-laws, mother-in-law, aunties, oma etc for their generosity...the supplies are certainly growing :)
i'm loving it, all the little things are so sweet and adorable. can't wait till the baby arrives so i can put them on!
